Dear Eloquent Customers,
It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement. I have been passionately developing and marketing knowledge management software for over 40 years. It is now time for me to pass the baton to the next generation.
Eloquent, the company I spent much of my life building, will continue under new ownership and management. I have chosen Lucidea, a firm that is well known for its expertise in the knowledge management software. The three key people – Stan Khaloupny, Reynaldo Guarin and Lawrence Boscoe – that have been with me for over 10 years, will remain on staff to give you continued great service and to evolve the software.
Lucidea’s CEO, Ron Aspe, and I have known each other for almost 30 years. I gave him his first job as a software engineer at my first company, Easy Data Systems. While at Easy Data, Ron helped code our first MARC import utility. In 1989, Ron started his own company, Ronald Aspe and Associates, by acquiring the intellectual property for the product he helped develop. I am confident Eloquent could not be in better hands.
As for my plans for the future, Corinne and I plan to take longer vacations and spend more time with our grandchildren than was possible while owning Eloquent. I will always have fond memories of the people I’ve worked with and the challenges that we overcame. I will remain available to assist with the transition and no doubt will follow the ongoing success of Eloquent for years to come.
Please connect to me on LinkedIn if you are not already. I look forward to staying in touch. It has been a pleasure working with you and your organization. I want to extend my thanks.
Kind regards and best wishes,
Merv Richter, Founder & Former President
